On Sunday, April 8th Prestyn celebrated her 1st Easter ever at 2 and 1/2 weeks old. After waking up (as much as we could) and getting ready for the day the 3 of us were off to Grandma and Grandpa Hughes' in Apple Valley, MN (Mommy and Daddy's old stompin' grounds) for the first half of Easter Day. Mommy and Daddy were very excited for Prestyn on Easter because she was going to finally meet everyone on both sides of the family. We showed up around noon for a casual session of "Show and Tell," filled our tummy's with all sorts of goodies and got to meet Grandpa Hughes' bearded dragon "Roscoe." Our little hot potato got passed around for quite a while, allowing Mommy and Daddy some time to vegitate and chat with family. Grandma and Grandpa Hughes surprised Prestyn with her very first Easter book "The Golden Egg Book" and some cute sleepers for bedtime.
Around 5:00pm we packed up and headed out for Grandpa and Gram-Z Micklo's in Northfield, MN. We showed up around 6:00pm and Prestyn got to meet some of Daddy's extended family (nowhere near the size of Mommy's). Gram-Z Micklo and Auntie Heather (Peachy) surprised Prestyn with her 1st Easter baskets that the Easter bunny left at their homes. We ate dinner around 7:00pm and hung out and shared stories over cocktails until around 10:00pm, then it was time to pack up and head home.
That evening Prestyn let us know how stressful of a day she had. It was great to get out and see everyone and introduce Prestyn to the family, but she decided to get revenge on Mommy and Daddy by keeping them up pretty much the entire night. Oh well, all part of the job...and like Mommy and Daddy always tell their little girl, "You're lucky you're so darn cute!"
