NEW ARRIVAL!

Prestyn Isabelle Micklo was born Wednesday morning, March 21st at 5:44am. She weighed 7lbs 1oz and was 20.5 inches long.

Mom had an appointment early on Tuesday and was dilated to 2 centimeters. She began having very mild contractions around 11:00am that morning that continued through the afternoon. Around 9:00pm (after a tasty and SPICY Mexican dinner) the contractions really started hitting hard. We called our doctor around 10:00pm and were admitted to Abott Northwest at midnight. Mom was dilated between 4 and 5 centimeters and was getting contractions every 5 minutes lasting for a minute or so. A couple hours after receiving a then highly anticipated epidural, Mom was dilated to 7 centimeters. After a quick nap for Mom and Dad it was 4:30am and time to push!

Roughly 1 hour later Prestyn Isabelle Micklo arrived! She had a ton of hair, big feet and big paws (thanks Dad)! Grandpa Micklo, Gram-Z Micklo and Grandma Hughes were at the hospital awaiting their 1st Grandchild while Grandpa Hughes unfortunately got struck with a nasty case of the flu and had to stay home.

We stayed at the hospital for several days with Mommy getting rest, Daddy learning diaper duty, and Prestyn keeping Daddy busy! The staff was great and even deemed Prestyn "cutest but stinkiest" baby in the nursery (thanks again Dad)! During our stay a few buddies of Daddy and Mommy came to meet Baby Prestyn. Jason, Jimbo, Paul, Jessica, and Shirley Doering all paid visits to catch a first glimpse of our new addition to our family. Thanks for your time you guys!

Saturday afternoon we packed up and loaded the car for our first trip home as a family. The weather was beautiful and Prestyn slept the whole way home. Our first evening at home with baby went well with regular feedings every couple hours and diaper changes on a regular basis. We were very excited to be home and grateful that the delivery and stay at the hospital went so well. Thank you to everyone that has payed us a visit, gave us a buzz on the phone, and sent their warmest wishes and kind words in the mail or over the internet.
