Today Katie celebrated her first Mother's Day and Prestyn was baptised! Prestyn and Daddy stayed home making Mommy's gift on Saturday while she went to a friends baby shower. Daddy made molds of Prestyn's feet and hands out of clay, dried them and stuck them in a frame with a cute photo of Baby for Mommy. This morning after getting ready for the baptism Mommy opened her gifts from Daddy and Prestyn (I think we did good kiddo)! She got a few new tank tops from Daddy and she absolutley loved her gift from Baby! After a quick bite to eat we were off to Plymouth Congregational in Minneapolis, Minnesota for the baptism. We met up with Grandpa and Grandma Hughes, Grandpa and GramZ Micklo, Auntie (Godmother) Heather and Jeremy, and Auntie (Godmother) Jessica and Baby Ava. The baptism went really well and Prestyn (along with 2 other babies) seemed to really enjoy the pipe organs (while the Grandparents had to turn down their hearing aids)! After the service, baptism and a quick photo session we headed back to Mommy and Daddy's place for Mimosas before having brunch at Dangerfields. During brunch Auntie Heather and Jeremy surprised us with a cute silver cup with Prestyn's name, birthday, and baptismal date inscribed on it, a hanging keepsake picture box for her nursery, and a kit to make plaster casts of her hands and feet, thanks you two! Auntie Jessica got Prestyn a super cute onsie and pair of matching jeans from Gap, and a tiny silver ring with a cross engraved into it. Grandpa and Grandma Hughes got Prestyn her birthstone embedded in a ring, a picture frame with a cute photo of her for the nursery, and some cash for her savings account. Grandpa and GramZ Micklo got Prestyn a cute little "My Precious Granddaughter" figurine and some cash for her savings account. Thanks to each of you for the gifts and for spending your time with us on Prestyn and Mommy's special day! By the time we finished brunch the temperature outside was climbing quickly, and upon returning home with the Grandparents to open a few more Mothers Day gifts we found ourselves in an 80 degree home with a broken A/C, BLAH! At the moment Katie, Baby, and I are ready to pass out due to the heat (the thermostat currently reads 90 degrees)! We spent some time in the basement to try and cool down, and have set up an air mattress and the pack n' play down there in case this evening is to hot as well. Other than the blazing heat and the lack of a functioning A/C, the day went really well and I think Mommy had a great time on her 1st ever Mothers Day.
